Evaluation of the “One Community” program in Malawi
The Government of Malawi has set as priorities the identification of undiagnosed cases of HIV, the expansion of access to HIV care and treatment, and the achievement of high levels of adherence to antiretroviral treatment, particularly among at-risk populations. “One Community” is the U. S. Agency for International Development’s flagship community-based response to Malawi’s HIV epidemic.
This brief provides an overview of SOAR’s rigorous evaluation of One Community, which supports the government’s efforts to reduce new infections and to mitigate the impact of HIV among orphans, out-of-school adolescent girls and young women, and other at-risk populations in the southern region of Malawi.
