Tathmini GBV Study: Evaluation of Comprehensive GBV Programming Delivered through the HIV Program Platform in Tanzania
The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief funded the implementation of a comprehensive gender-based violence (GBV) program delivered through the HIV prevention, care, and treatment platform in Mbeya Region in Tanzania and commissioned an independent evaluation of the program’s impacts. The Tathmini GBV Study was a matched-pair, cluster randomized controlled trial to assess the impact of comprehensive programs and services to prevent and treat GBV in Mbeya Region. In 2013, a baseline household survey of 1,299 women 15 to 49 years of age was conducted in twelve clusters. This presentation provides the results of a follow-up survey of 1,250 women conducted 24 months later.
