Assessing family planning and safer conception needs and services among female sex workers living with HIV in Dar Es Salaam

This report describes the family planning needs, fertility intentions, and safer conception knowledge of HIV-positive female sex workers, and how well community-based family planning services are responding to their multiple needs. The research team found that women had high unmet need for contraception yet most wanted to have a (or another) child someday. The authors discuss the implications of these findings for integrated HIV and family planning service delivery, as well as research and programmatic priorities around safer conception.
